Sign Up For General Surgical Registrar Training Days

Updated: Apr 2

Are you a surgical registrar looking to enhance your skills and knowledge in Severn and Peninsula? South West Surgery has the perfect solution for you!

South West Surgery provides a comprehensive program offering a series of practical training days at various venues. Whether you are looking to improve your surgical techniques, stay updated on the latest advancements in the field, or simply network with fellow trainees, these training days provide the ideal platform for your professional development.

The training days cover a wide range of topics, providing valuable insights and hands-on experience. Crucially, they are curated based on your feedback and your training needs. If you have an idea for a training day or you would like to help run a training day, please get in touch! We would hope you are all able to offer some time over the year to aid in the CST teaching programme.

Stay tuned for updates on training days and course materials through the SPR group network. You MUST sign up with your NHS email to access these.

Registering for courses is easy, simply follow the instructions on the event page. Unfortunately, there are not enough spaces for all of you to attend. This is due to venue capacity and quality assurance to ensure good faculty ratios. The teaching programme will repeat, throughout the course of your training, to allow opportunity to attend.

Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you are unable to attend a day which you have registered for, please cancel your place ASAP to allow another trainee to benefit.

Whilst we do try to contact rota co-ordinators to make them aware of the upcoming programme, it is your responsibility to ensure you have requested study leave and arranged any required swaps to attend.

We cover a large geographical area and recognise the difficulty in travelling to different sites. Much of our work is tied to different venues due to equipment requirements, faculty need and legislation around disposal of medical meat. Where possible we try to use central venues, but hope you will appreciate the valuable training opportunities offered and make the journey.

See you at the next training day!
